VanSlooten is one of six student-athletes from the Pac-12 competing for 12 roster spots on a team that will compete at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup, which is scheduled for July 15-23 in Madrid, Spain. VanSlooten earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team and All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors following her freshman campaign. The Toledo, Ohio, product was voted Pac-12 Freshman of the Week four times in addition to being voted Pac-12 Player of the Week on Dec. 26, becoming just the third player in Pac-12 history to sweep both weekly conference awards.

She ended the season second in scoring in the Pac-12 among freshmen and shot 46.5 percent from the field. The 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup features 16 teams and FIBA announced that the U.S. will be in Group B along with Chines Taipei, Germany and Mali. Team USA has won the gold at the competition in eight of the last nine events, including the last two.
