Oregon remained unbeaten in Pac-12 play with a 76-74 win Thursday that saw Jermaine Couisnard hit the game-winner.
SEATTLE — Jermaine Couisnard scored the game-winner with 12 seconds left Thursday to cap an impressive second half for the Oregon men's basketball team and give the Ducks a 76-74 win over Washington.
The Ducks (11-3, 3-0) shot 60.7 percent after halftime, outrebounded the Huskies over the final 20 minutes and cut down on their first-half foul trouble to remain unbeaten in Pac-12 play this season. Neither team led by more than seven points in the game and there were six ties, the last at 74-74 before Couisnard drove to the rim for the lead and the Huskies missed a three-pointer at the other end.
"You've got to find a way to win on the road," UO coach Dana Altman said. "Our execution wasn't what I want it to be … (but) any time you go on the road you've got to find a way to win, and the guys did that."
Jackson Shelstad led the Ducks with 17 points, Couisnard scored 16 with eight rebounds and Kwame Evans Jr. added 15 points with eight rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals. Mookie Cook made his UO debut late in the first half and finished with four points, on two dunks.
"Mookie gave us a big lift, came in for six minutes and did a great job," Altman said. "Jackson was solid again. It was a good effort; a lot of guys played well."

How It Happened: At halftime the Ducks trailed 36-30, having shot 38.2 percent while committing 11 fouls that allowed UW to have an 8-1 advantage in points from the free-throw line. Oregon got more shots to fall after halftime, including from the free-throw line, where the Ducks were 9-12 in the second half and UW went 4-of-9.
Oregon trailed 41-36 early in the second half when a hook shot by Mahamadou Diawara and a dunk from Cook two possessions later made it a one-point game. After UW scored again, the Ducks got consecutive buckets from Couisnard, Evans and Cook to lead 46-43. As it turned out, Cook's first basket began a streak of nine straight made field goals by Oregon, the last of which from Couisnard gave the Ducks their biggest lead of the game, 58-51.
The Huskies began to claw back, and with Oregon clinging to a 65-62 lead Washington hit a game-tying three and then a go-ahead bucket with 3:31 left. But two free throws by Jadrian Tracey, a defensive stop and a three-pointer by Brennan Rigsby put the Ducks back in the lead, 70-67.
Another UW three-pointer tied it 72-72, Evans then scored on a feed from Couisnard to put Oregon back in front and Washington tied it again with two free throws. But Couisnard got to the basket for the 76-74 lead, and a corner three by UW with 5 seconds left was off the front of the rim.

Couisnard also scored the game's first points, on a three-pointer, but UW answered with seven straight. The Huskies led 19-12 when Couisnard ended a run of seven straight misses by the Ducks by scoring two second-chance points.
A three-pointer by Rigsby got the Ducks within 23-21, and another second-chance bucket from Evans tied it at 23-23. After UW scored at the other end, Shelstad hit a three-pointer for a 26-25 lead, but UW scored the next six in a row and ultimately led 36-30 at halftime.
