Football Practice Report: Oct. 22
10/22/24 | Football
The top-ranked Ducks are preparing to host No. 20 Illinois on Saturday (12:30 p.m., CBS).
The Oregon football team was in full pads Tuesday, as the top-ranked Ducks continued preparations for Saturday's top-20 matchup with Illinois.
The UO football team (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) will look to remain unbeaten when the Ducks meet the Illini, who are off to a 6-1 start including 3-1 in the conference. Kickoff on CBS is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Following Tuesday's practice, local media met with quarterback Dillon Gabriel, tight end Kenyon Sadiq and defensive lineman Matayo Uiagalelei. Video of those interviews is embedded below.

Some highlights from Gabriel …
On his impressions of Illinois from film study: "They're tough. They're physical. They play a good brand of football. I think their whole organization represents that. It's going to be a great matchup. I think when you look at college football, these are the kinds of matchups you look forward to. You want to see two great teams play against one and other."
On Sadiq's emergence in recent weeks: "Kenyon is a talented guy and I think for a lot of guys it's when they get their opportunity and their name is called, you're able to see what they can do on the field. It's definitely exciting for him and I think it's something he's been working for this whole time, and now we're able to see it. I'm proud of him."
On the impact of deep passes for the offense: "I think explosive plays, any time you do that, whether it's a deep ball or you just see someone come down with it, I think there's momentum with that as well. That big-play ability, instead of having 15-play drives, you turn that into a three-, four- or five-play drive and that definitely helps."
