Rivalry Showdown Caps Regular Season
No. 1 Oregon will look to complete an undefeated regular season on Saturday when the Ducks host rival Washington in prime time at Autzen Stadium. UO is one win away from going unbeaten in the regular season for the second time in program history (2010), and will aim to take a perfect record into next weekend's Big Ten Championship Game. The Ducks will try to snap a three-game losing streak against the Huskies, though Oregon is a dominant 16-7 vs. Washington since 2000. UO has won eight of the last 10 showdowns against UW in Autzen Stadium.
Alone at the Top
The Ducks enter the final weekend of the 2024 regular season as the lone unbeaten team remaining in college football. Oregon is 11-0 for the second time in program history, securing an 11-win season for the second year in a row and ninth time in program history. The Ducks are going into their sixth week as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, earning the top spot in every edition of the College Football Playoff rankings so far this season. Oregon clinched its spot in the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game with its win over Wisconsin on Nov. 16, and the Ducks secured the No. 1 seed in the game last week with Ohio State's win over Indiana.
A Win Would...
» Complete an undefeated regular season and make UO 12-0 for the second time in program history (2010).
» Be Oregon's 13th straight win dating back to 2023, the longest active winning streak in the nation.
» Make Oregon 7-0 at home for the second year in a row and seventh time in program history.
» Secure an undefeated record at home in the regular season for the 12th time in program history.
» Improve UO to 38-1 at home since Sept. 22, 2018, and 47-3 at home since the start of the 2017 season.
Gritty Win Keeps Ducks Perfect
Playing for the eighth week in a row and against a second straight opponent coming off its own bye week, the Ducks kept their undefeated season going on Nov. 16 with a 16-13 comeback win at Wisconsin. Oregon struggled to establish a rhythm most of the night, but controlled the fourth quarter behind a stout defense and the running of Jordan James. UO trailed 10-6 at halftime and 13-6 after the third quarter, before a crucial first-down completion from Dillon Gabriel to Terrance Ferguson on 4th-and-9 kept Oregon's offense on the field for what went on to be a 13-play, 81-yard touchdown drive to tie the game. James scored Oregon's lone touchdown of the night while taking over the game late, surpassing 1,000 yards rushing for the season and finishing with 121 yards on 25 carries. Atticus Sappington kicked his third field goal of the night to give Oregon a 16-13 lead with 2:36 remaining, giving the Oregon defense all it needed to finish off the victory. The Ducks held the Badgers to just 226 total yards on the night, including zero net yards in the fourth quarter, and the defense sealed the win as Jamaree Caldwell tipped a pass that was then intercepted by Matayo Uiagalelei with 1:32 remaining.
Indy Bound
Oregon's win over Wisconsin clinched its spot in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Championship Game, giving the Ducks an opportunity to win the conference title in their first year in the league. UO secured the No. 1 seed in the game while on a bye last week after Ohio State defeated Indiana, and a win over Washington this week would send the Ducks to Indianapolis with a perfect 12-0 record. Oregon will have to wait until after Saturday's game to know its opponent in the title game, with Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana all still in the running for the berth. The Ducks clinched a spot in their conference title game for the second year in a row under Dan Lanning and the seventh time in program history.
Turn it up to 11
The Ducks are 11-0 to open a season for just the second time in program history, joining the 2010 Oregon team that went 12-0 in the regular season and reached the BCS National Championship Game. Oregon's win at Wisconsin on Nov. 16 secured the program's second straight 11-win season and ninth all-time (all since 2001), and the Ducks have now won at least 10 games in four straight seasons dating back to 2021. With Army's loss to Notre Dame last week, Oregon now owns the nation's longest active winning streak at 12 games dating back to 2023.
Building the Resume
The No. 1 Ducks are the nation's only remaining unbeaten team entering the final week of the regular season, after Indiana and Army suffered losses for the first time last week. Oregon owns the best win in the nation with their Oct. 12 victory over Ohio State, which currently sits at No. 2 behind the Ducks in the College Football Playoff rankings. Oregon has another win over a team currently slated to make the CFP field with its Sept. 7 victory over Boise State, which came in at No. 12 in last week's rankings. Illinois returned to the CFP rankings last week at No. 25 and is currently at No. 22 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the coaches poll, giving the Ducks three total wins over CFP top-25 teams. Oregon will have another opportunity to earn a top-25 win in next week's Big Ten Championship Game before the CFP field is set.
All Three Phases
Oregon has been one of the nation's most well-rounded teams while getting out to an 11-0 start. The Ducks are seventh in the FBS in total defense (287.4 YPG) and 20th in total offense (447.6 YPG), making them one of just five teams (Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas) in the top 20 for both categories, and they are the only FBS team in the top 15 of both passing defense (7th, 168.8 YPG) and passing offense (15th, 281.4 YPG). Oregon is also one of 10 teams in the top 25 for both scoring defense (8th, 15.7 PPG) and scoring offense (T-24th, 33.9 PPG), and one of just three (Missouri, Tulane) in the top 15 for both third-down defense (13th, 31.72%) and third-down offense (9th, 48.92%). UO has also been effective on special teams, leading the nation in kickoff return average (32.0) and ranking as the only Big Ten team with both a punt return and a kickoff return for a touchdown. Oregon's overall team grade of 92.6 by Pro Football Focus ranks No. 9 in the nation.

Gabriel the Touchdown King
In his sixth and final season of college football, Dillon Gabriel has made history in 2024 by becoming the NCAA all-time leader in total touchdowns. Gabriel threw three touchdown passes against Maryland on Nov. 9 to get to 180 total touchdowns in his career, breaking the previous FBS record of 178 held by Case Keenum (2007-11, Houston). Gabriel's record-breaking number is made up of 147 career passing touchdowns, 32 rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. Gabriel also ranks second all-time in total yards with 19,146 in his career as he closes in on Keenum's all-time record of 20,114. On the season, Gabriel is No. 10 nationally in total offense (282.8 YPG) and tied for 12th in total touchdowns (28).
QB1
Dillon Gabriel has been one of the nation's top quarterbacks while leading No. 1 Oregon to a 11-0 start. He is No. 2 in the country with a terrific 73.8 completion percentage while also sitting in the top 20 for passer rating (9th, 164.42), total yards per game (T-10th, 292.8), passing yards per game (11th, 278.7), total touchdowns (T-12th, 28) and passing touchdowns (T-19th, 22). Gabriel has thrown multiple touchdown passes in nine of 11 games, including a trio of three-TD games against UCLA, Illinois and Maryland. The NCAA all-time leader in total touchdowns has also continued to show his ability as a dual-threat quarterback, adding six rushing touchdowns so far as a Duck. Gabriel had a season-high four total touchdowns on Oct. 26 vs. Illinois, throwing for three scores and adding another on the ground.
» No. 2 in the Big Ten in passing touchdowns, passing yards per game and completions (259), and fourth in passer rating.
» Six rushing touchdowns are second-most among Big Ten quarterbacks (7, Will Howard, Ohio State).
» Tied for No. 11 nationally in passing yards per attempt (8.7).
» At least 200 passing yards in 10 of 11 games, including two with 300-plus (Idaho, Ohio State).
» Six games this season with both a passing and rushing touchdown.
JJ Leading The Way
Jordan James has established himself as Oregon's workhorse in the backfield this season while emerging as one of the top backs in the nation. James surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career while leading Oregon to a 16-13 win at Wisconsin on Nov. 16, notching the 29th 1,000-yard rushing season in program history. James ran for 121 yards and the Ducks' lone touchdown of the night, going over 100 yards for the sixth time this season and seventh in his career. The junior ran for 100-plus yards in three straight games against UCLA (103), Michigan State (166) and Ohio State (115), and he also went over the century mark vs. Boise State (102) and Michigan (117).
» Fourth in the Big Ten and No. 23 nationally with 97.0 rushing yards per game.
» Currently No. 20 in UO single-season history with 1,067 rushing yards.
» Also surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards in Oregon's win at Wisconsin.
Explosive Ducks
Oregon's offense has been one of the nation's most dynamic once again this season. The Ducks scored 30-plus points in nine straight games from Week 2 to Week 11, and they are one of only six teams in the nation (Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Ohio State, TCU) to score 30-plus points at least nine times this season. Oregon is currently tied for 24th nationally in scoring offense at 33.9 points per game, and the Ducks are 20th in total offense at 447.6 total yards per game. UO is also 15th nationally in passing offense (281.4 YPG) behind star QB Dillon Gabriel, and the Ducks lead the country with a 73.6 team completion percentage. The Ducks' passing game has been among the most explosive in the nation; they are tied for seventh in the FBS with six passing plays of 50-plus yards while also sitting in the top 25 for passes of 40-plus yards (T-19th, 10) and 30-plus yards (T-21st, 20).
Clutch in Key Spots
Oregon has been terrific on third down this season, ranking ninth nationally with a 48.92 conversion rate that is No. 1 in the Big Ten. UO has been especially good on third down while on the road, leading the nation with a 55.93 conversion percentage away from home. The Ducks were 10-of-15 on third down on Nov. 2 at Michigan, their most conversions in a game this season and their sixth game with a conversion rate of 50 percent or better. The Ducks have been especially effective on third down in the second quarters of games, converting 21-of-34 opportunities (61.8%). Oregon is tied for 21st nationally in third-down conversions (68) while sitting just 93rd in third-down attempts (139).

T-Ferg Chasing History
In his fourth and final season with the Ducks, TE Terrance Ferguson is on the cusp of becoming the most accomplished tight end in Oregon football history. Among UO tight ends, Ferguson is currently second all-time in receptions (122), tied for second in receiving touchdowns (14) and third in receiving yards (1,388). Ferguson opened his senior season with a career-high seven catches for a team-high 87 yards vs. Idaho, and he has 31 receptions for 442 yards and a touchdown through nine games played. Ferguson returned to action on Nov. 2 after missing two games due to illness, and he hauled in six catches on 12 targets for 35 yards and his first touchdown of the season on Nov. 9 vs. Maryland.
» Just one receiving TD away from the UO all-time record for a tight end of 15 held by Josh Wilcox (1993-96).
» Needs three more receptions and 170 receiving yards to pass Ed Dickson for those UO all-time records by tight ends.
» Three catches for 52 yards on Nov. 16 at Wisconsin, including a crucial 15-yard catch on 4th-and-9 to open the fourth quarter.
Everything Earned
A dual-sport athlete who joined the football team as a walk-on in 2022, ILB Bryce Boettcher has become one of the best stories in all of college athletics while emerging as a leader and key contributor on the Oregon defense in his final season. Boettcher is one of three finalists for the 2024 Burlsworth Trophy, presented to the nation's most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on. After playing sparingly on special teams in 2022 and then moving from safety to inside linebacker in 2023, Boettcher is Oregon's leading tackler this season with a career-high 69 tackles while adding 5.0 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception and three pass breakups. The Eugene native has led Oregon in tackling five times in 11 games, including each of the first three games to open the season, and his team-high 90.3 defensive grade from Pro Football Focus ranks second among all FBS linebackers and tied for 11th among all FBS defenders.
Game Wrecker
Just a true sophomore, OLB Matayo Uiagalelei has emerged as one of the top pass rushers in the nation for the Ducks in 2024. Uiagalelei leads Oregon and is tied for second in the Big Ten with a career-high 8.5 sacks through 11 games, including one in seven of his last eight games after recording a sack in Oregon's win at Wisconsin on Nov. 16. Uiagalelei also leads the Ducks and is fifth in the Big Ten with a career-high 10.5 tackles for loss, and he has matched his career-high three times this season with 2.0 TFLs against Idaho, Ohio State and Purdue. Uiagalelei was named the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Oregon's win at Wisconsin, finishing with five total tackles, a sack and an interception late in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory and helped the No. 1 Ducks improve to 11-0.

Consistent Intensity
Defense has been the driving force for the Ducks throughout the 2024 season, as Oregon has allowed the seventh-fewest yards per game nationally (287.4) and sports the eighth-best scoring defense (15.7 PPG) as well as the seventh-ranked passing defense (168.8 YPG). UO started the season by holding nonconference opponents to 287.8 yards per game, the 16th-lowest total among FBS teams and fourth lowest in the Big Ten. That momentum has carried over into Big Ten play, where the Ducks are allowing just 13.9 points per game against conference opponents, the fourth-best mark in the nation, and rank eighth in total defense in conference games (283.3 YPG). Since the Ducks took down No. 2 Ohio State on Oct. 12, Oregon has held opponents to just 11.4 points per game, the third-lowest mark in the nation in that span. On the road at Wisconsin last time out, the Ducks stopped the Bagders on 11 of their 12 third-down tries and held them to just 96 passing yards for the game, their fewest since Nov. 5, 2022.
» One of five teams (Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas) to hold nine or more opponents to 18 points or fewer.
» One of 10 FBS teams to be holding opponents under 300 yards of total offense per game.
» One of eight teams (Indiana, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Tulane) to have a top-30 passing defense (176.1 ypg, 19th) and rushing defense (117.4 ypg, 32nd).
» Oregon's 93.1 PFF defensive grade is tied for the fourth-best in the nation and ranks third in the Big Ten.
You Shall Not Pass
The Ducks have dominated on both sides of the passing game once again this season. While the offense is averaging 281.4 yards per game through the air and leads the nation with a 73.6 completion percentage, the defense has limited opposing QBs to just a 53.7 percent completion rate and 168.8 yards per game. Completions have not come easy for UO opponents, as the Ducks are tied for the national lead in passes broken up (57), rank second nationally in passes defended (67) and are tied for fifth in the Big Ten with 10 interceptions.
AutomAtticus
The Ducks had big shoes to fill at kicker after the graduation of Camden Lewis, who left UO as the program's all-time leader in points scored. Oregon State transfer Atticus Sappington has been a solid addition for the Ducks, making 13-of-15 field goals through 11 games as a Duck. A Portland native, Sappington was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week following his game-winning field goal against Boise State in Week 2, and he earned the honor once again after matching his career high with three field goals in Oregon's win at Wisconsin on Nov. 16. Sappington's final make against the Badgers served as the game winner, a 24-yarder with 2:36 left to put UO up 16-13. Sappington has also handled the majority of kickoff duties this season, recording 47 touchbacks on 61 attempts.
