Ducks Begin Road Swing in Boise

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team kicks off a stretch of six consecutive matches away from home Friday in Boise, first taking on Boise State before a neutral-site contest against Minnesota on Saturday at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.

The Ducks have won three of their last four matches after splitting a pair of home contests last weekend. UO defeated UC Santa Barbara 4-3 Saturday before dropping a tight 4-3 decision to Denver Sunday at the Student Tennis Center.

Uxia Martinez Moral and Karin Young each lead the team with five singles wins on the young spring season, with Young's record remaining unblemished at 5-0. Sophomore Jo-Yee Chan is 4-3 and both Nina Geissler and Sophie Luescher have three wins, sitting at 3-3.

On the double side, Oregon has clinched the doubles point in five of seven matches this season. Freshman Candela Aparisi and Young own a team-high three doubles victories this spring. Geissler and Luescher are 2-0 when paired together while Chan and Martinez Moral are 2-1.

Boise State is off to a 2-2 start while Minnesota is unbeaten at 6-0. The Ducks are 10-3 all-time against the Broncos and 1-4 against the Golden Gophers. Oregon defeated BSU 6-1 in Eugene a season ago and has won three straight in the series. UO and Minnesota last played in 2015.
