
Ducks Drop Two in the Bay

BERKELEY, Calif. - The Oregon men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to begin the Pac-12 season, falling to Stanford and California on the road this weekend.
Match One:
Stanford secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Avi Shugar and Lachlan Robertson went unfinished on court three, leading 6-5 when the point was secured.
The next three points came in straight sets for Stanford. Courts two, three and four finished with Cardinal victories to clinch their 4-0 win.
Quinn Vandecasteele and Zian Vanderstappen were in their second sets on courts one and five when the match was clinched. Lenn Luemkemann won the first set on court six, but went unfinished as well.
The Ducks continue Pac-12 play against California on Saturday.

Match Two:
In a 4-1 loss to California, Matthew Burton earned the single point for the Ducks on Saturday.
Avi Shugar and Lachlan Robertson fell first on court three. California's No. 65 ranked doubles team defeated Matthew Burton and Quinn Vandecasteele to clinch the doubles point for the Bears.
David Cierny opened singles play with a loss on court two, which set California up 2-0.
Matthew Burton kept Oregon in the running, defeating Qian Sun 6-1, 6-1 on court four.
Vlad Breazu and Lenn Luemkemann went down on courts three and six to secure the overall win for the Bears.
Quinn Vandecasteele went unfinished on court one while leading No. 107 Carl Emil Overbeck 4-3 in the third set. Zian Vanderstappen and Jonathan Irwanto were tied at six games a piece in their second set when the match was clinched.
Looking ahead, the Ducks will play road matches at the University of Texas San Antonio on March 26 and Denver University on March 29.
