Ducks Host Corban in Home Opener
03/20/24 | Women's Beach Volleyball
First serve of Thursday's dual is scheduled for 2 p.m.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team is back in action Thursday when it hosts Corban. First serve of the dual is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Amazon Park in Eugene. Admission is free to all fans.
Played out over three waves of two, the match will start with the No. 3 and 5 pairs followed by the No. 1 and 6 pairs, and end with the No. 2 and 4 pairs. The dual format is best three of five; No. 6 pairs plays as an exhibition match but does not factor in the final score.
Oregon and Corban have met five times over the past three season with the Ducks coming out on top in each of those matchups. Oregon won 3-2 a season ago, buoyed by victories at the top-three spots in the lineup.
In their last outing, the Ducks faced a gauntlet featuring four of the top-seven teams in the nation during the Pac-12 South Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. Overall, Oregon is looking to snap an eight-match slide. The Ducks are undefeated (8-0) on their home courts, two of those victories coming against Corban.
Senior Ashley Schroeder is approaching an individual milestone. She enters the week needing one win to become the second player in program history to reach 40 wins in a career.
Corban is 6-1 this season and currently ranks as the No. 2 team in the latest NAIA poll.
Thursday is the first of two home dates for the Ducks this season. The team will play Bushnell on April 9 on Senior Day.
