09/23/24 | Men's Golf
SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Oregon senior Greyson Leach fired a 69 and a 70 while junior Aiden Krafft carded a career-low 65 on Monday to lead the Ducks at the opening day of The Tindall at Aldarra Golf Club.
Leach is riding the momentum after a T6 finish to start the season at the Sahalee Players Championship and finds himself T16 with 18 left to play in Washington, while Krafft is coming off of his first collegiate win. As a team, the Ducks sit in 12th place at 7-over par. Utah leads the field 20-under, followed by Pepperdine and Cal at 15-under.
How It Happened
Leach started his day with a birdie on the par-4 first, but bogeyed three of his next six holes to sit at 2-over. He then found his groove, carding five birdies in his next ten holes before a final bogey on the 18th. Leach carried the momentum from his 2-under 69 into the second round, where he tallied four more birdies en route to a 1-under finish, his fourth under-par round so far this season.
Krafft shot a 5-over 76 in the first round but ended with a string of five consecutive pars. He upped the intensity in his second 18 holes, playing a bogey-free front nine and an impressive 5-under back nine. He carded seven birdies and a bogey in the second round to set his new career low and climb from T68 to T23.
After a 1-over 72 with three birdies and four bogeys, Eric Doyle carded a 3-over 75 in the second round that included 11 consecutive pars. Daniel Bullen carded a 73 with four birdies in round one before shooting a 7-over 78 in the second 18 while Jeffrey Kwak rounded out the Ducks' lineup, going 78-76.
Competing as an individual for the second event in a row, Jay Gould-Healy put together his best two rounds of the fall, shooting an even-par 71 in the first round before a 1-over 72 in the second and carding six birdies on the day.
