Sadiq Named John Mackey Award Finalist

NEW YORK — Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq was announced on Monday as one of three finalists for the 2025 John Mackey Award, presented annually to the most outstanding tight end in college football.
Sadiq is joined by Baylor's Michael Trigg and Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers. He becomes the first Duck ever to be named a Mackey Award finalist after joining George Wrighster (2002) and Ed Dickson (2009) as the only Oregon tight ends to be selected as semifinalists.
Sadiq has been tremendous for the Ducks this season, leading all FBS tight ends with a team-high eight touchdown receptions. He is just one touchdown catch away from tying Justin Peelle (2001) for the most TD receptions in a season by an Oregon tight end.
A native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sadiq also leads the Ducks this season in receptions (36) and receiving yards (479). He currently ranks seventh in UO single-season history by a tight end in receiving yards and is tied for eighth in receptions.
Sadiq got his junior season off to a hot start, catching a touchdown in three of Oregon's first four games. He has been unstoppable down the stretch with five touchdowns in his last four games, including a pair of two-TD performances against Rutgers and Minnesota.
Sadiq put together the best statistical game of his career in Week 12 against Minnesota, catching a career-high eight passes for a career-high 96 yards and a touchdown. He followed that up with six catches for 72 yards and two scores last week against USC, his third career multi-TD performance.
Through 38 career games, Sadiq currently ranks ninth all-time among Oregon tight ends with 65 receptions and is tied for eighth with 11 touchdown catches. He enters the final week of the 2025 regular season 189 yards away from becoming the 10th Oregon tight end ever to reach 1,000 career receiving yards.
Sadiq and the No. 7 Ducks (10-1, 7-1 Big Ten) will wrap the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Washington (12:30 p.m. PT, CBS).
