EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon kicker Atticus Sappington was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season and fourth time in his career on Monday for his performance in Oregon's 26-14 win at Washington over the weekend.
Sappington was announced as the Co-Special Teams Player of the Week along with Michigan State's Alante Brown.
Oregon finishes the 2025 regular season with five Big Ten weekly awards, including two for Sappington.
Sappington put together one of the best kicking performances in Oregon history to help the Ducks defeat the Huskies and complete an 11-1 regular season. The Portland native was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals while also making both of his extra-point attempts.
Sappington's day was headlined by a career-long 51-yard field goal in the third quarter, the longest by a Duck since Matt Evensen made a 52-yarder on Oct. 25, 2008. It was also the first 50-plus yard field goal by a Duck since Andrew Boyle on Oct. 4, 2024.
Sappington also made from 46, 32 and 37 yards to finish with a career-high four field goals. He became the first Duck since at least 1996 to go 4-for-4 on field goals with a long make of 50-plus yards, and he joined Paul Martinez (9/1/05 vs. Houston) as the only Oregon kickers since at least 1996 to make at least four field goals with a long of 50-plus yards.
The redshirt senior is the first Duck to make four field goals in a game since Aidan Schneider on Oct. 29, 2016, and the first to go 4-for-4 in a game since Schneider on Sept. 19, 2015.
Through the regular season, Sappington has made a career-high 15-of-18 field goals while going a perfect 44-of-44 on extra points.
Sappington and the No. 6 Ducks (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) will await their seeding in the 2025 College Football Playoff when the field is announced this Sunday, Dec. 7.
