EUGENE, Ore. — The Ducks shared the wealth Wednesday night, and the result was golden.
Five players scored in double figures for the Oregon men's basketball team against Portland, and four Ducks had four assists as the team had 23 total helpers on 31 made baskets in a 94-69 victory over the Pilots at Matthew Knight Arena.
The 23 assists were a season high for the UO men, and their 13 made three-pointers were the Ducks' second most this season.
"We had some really good looks, especially when the ball moved inside-out," UO coach Dana Altman said. "Some of those threes, we got really good looks inside-out. So you know, some really good things."
Kwame Evans Jr. had 21 points plus seven rebounds and four assists, Nate Bittle scored 18 and Jackson Shelstad added 14 points with seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Dezdrick Lindsay also scored 14 and had four of the Ducks' 13 threes.

"When we swing the ball we get good shots, guys in a rhythm," Evans said. "And we just shoot a lot, we work on it a lot."
Wednesday's win was Oregon's second in a row following five straight losses. The Ducks are 6-5 entering a showdown with Gonzaga at Moda Center in Portland on Sunday.
"It was a positive; it was a step in the right direction," Altman said. "I wish we had been making those steps back in November, rather than now in December. … We are still a work in progress."
How It Happened: After forcing a miss by the Pilots on their first shot of the game, the Ducks watched Portland make their next six in a row. Thus, despite early threes for Oregon by Bittle, Takai Simpkins and Lindsay, the game was tied at 15-15 a little more than 5 minutes in.

The UO men led 26-25 when the Ducks put together a 7-0 run that included three buckets from Evans. Oregon scored the last five points of the first half on a dunk by Evans and a three by Shelstad, and the Ducks led 51-41 at halftime after forcing the Pilots to miss their last five shots.
"When we stand in front of people, guard and rebound, nobody's really scoring too much on us," Evans said. "Us talking on the defensive end is really helping. And we know we can score on offense, so we've just got to find good shots."
The Ducks were 6-of-16 from three in the first half, and went 7-of-17 in the second. With Oregon up 57-48 early in the second, the next four field goals by the UO men were three-pointers — one each by Bittle and Shelstad, and a pair by Lindsay.

"Dez in the second half was the best he's played for us," Altman said.
That sharp shooting put Oregon up 69-51, and the Ducks really broke it open with a 17-5 run to go ahead 86-60. Evans had eight points including a three-pointer during that run, and Lindsay hit his fourth three of the game amidst the run as well.
