NEW YORK - Oregon's Iapani Laloulu was announced on Monday as one of three finalists for the 2025 Rimington Trophy, presented annually to the nation's most outstanding center.
Laloulu is a finalist along with Iowa's Logan Jones and Florida's Jake Slaughter. The winner of the 2025 Rimington Trophy will be announced this Friday, Dec. 12, during the ESPN College Football Awards Show.
Laloulu is the fourth Duck to be selected as a Rimington Trophy finalist, joining Max Unger (2008), Hroniss Grasu (2013 & 2014) and Jackson Powers-Johnson (2023). Laloulu is looking to join Powers-Johnson as Oregon centers to win the Rimington Trophy.
A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Laloulu has started all 12 games at center for the Ducks this year and has started each of Oregon's last 27 games dating back to 2023. He was announced last week as an all-Big Ten second-team selection by the league's coaches.
Laloulu has given up just one sack and only six total pressures in 333 pass-blocking opportunities this season, and he ranks fourth among all Big Ten centers with an 89.1 pass-blocking grade by Pro Football Focus.
In his career, Laloulu has surrendered only one sack and 18 pressures in 1,051 pass-blocking opportunities. He is the leader of an Oregon offenseive line that is a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award for the fourth consecutive season.
Laloulu is a key piece of the 2025 Oregon offense that ranks in the top 20 nationally in scoring (9th, 38.2 PPG), total offense (13th, 465.2 YPG), rushing offense (14th, 218.42 YPG), sacks allowed (T-17th, 14) and tackles for loss allowed (8th, 43).
Laloulu and the No. 5 Ducks will host No. 12 seed James Madison in the opening round of the College Football Playoff on Saturday, Dec. 20, in Autzen Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT, TNT/TruTV/HBO Max).
