Ducks Fall to 26th-Ranked UCLA
03/14/25 | Women's Tennis
EUGENE, Ore. – Facing a stacked UCLA lineup that featured three ranked doubles teams and four ranked singles players, the Oregon women's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss to the 26th-ranked Bruins on Friday at the UO Student Tennis Center.
Two of the Bruins' doubles pairs were in the nation's top 12, including the country's No. 3 ranked duo. Four singles players sat atop UCLA's lineup, each ranking in the top 100.
UCLA (6-4, 1-0) took the doubles point, but Oregon's (7-5, 0-3) duo of Bridget Mihulka and Karin Young pushed the Bruin's third-ranked pair of Olivia Center and Kate Fakih to a 6-4 score on court two. Tilde and Juliet Santitto, playing at No. 1 and taking on the nation's 12th-ranked duo, trailed 5-4 when the point was decided.

On the singles side, the top three in UCLA's lineup each came away with straight-set victories to clinch the sweep. Mihulka, a freshman playing at No. 5, took the first set in a tiebreaker against the Bruins' Bianca Fernandez and were in the middle of the second set when the match was decided.
Santitto was in the midst of a second-set tiebreak on court six when the match was clinched.

Through 12 spring matches, Oregon's doubles teams are a combined 17-14 to go with a 33-23 singles mark. The Ducks finish the weekend by hosting No. 18 USC on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
