FORT WORTH, Texas. - The Oregon women's golf team is tied for the lead through 36 holes at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational after shooting even par in each of the first two rounds on Monday at Colonial Country Club.
The No. 3 Ducks are tied with No. 9 Wake Forest at even par entering Tuesday's final round, with No. 1 Stanford three strokes back at 3 over. No. 19 Auburn is in fourth at 8 over, and No. 20 Arizona is in fifth at 11 over.
Sophomore Kiara Romero is tied for first at 5-under par after carding a 2-under 68 and a 3-under 67, sharing the individual lead with SMU's Mackenzie Lee. Fellow sophomore Karen Tsuru is just two strokes back in a tie for fourth at 3 under after extending her streak of sub-70 rounds to eight with a 2-under 68 and a 1-under 69.
"I'm pleased with the way our team competed throughout a really long day of golf today," head coach Derek Radley said. "It's difficult to stay locked in for 36 holes and I thought our ladies did a really nice job from start to finish. This is a very talented field so we're going to need to be at our best tomorrow. It's going to be a fun finish."
