EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team was announced as the No. 2 seed in the NCATA National Championships on Sunday.
UO will face the seventh-seeded Division III champion Mary Hardin-Baylor in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m. PT. The Ducks beat UMHB earlier this season at Matthew Knight Arena, 275.180-256.005. This year's NCATA Championships will be held at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. Semifinals will be held on Friday, April 25, with a national champion being crowned on Saturday. Event titles will take place on Sunday, April 27.
The Ducks (5-2) have been ranked No. 2 in each of the last three NCATA poll thanks to four wins over ranked opponents after opening the year fourth in the polls.
Oregon has qualified for the NCATA Tournament in all 14 seasons of competition and is seeking its first national title since 2013. The Ducks have won 56 individual event titles, including the open toss and duo, trio and quad tumbling crowns a season ago.
