05/06/25 | General
EUGENE, Ore. — Eight University of Oregon athletic programs achieved a perfect 1,000 single-year score in the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the 2023-24 academic year, including women's basketball, men's cross country, women's golf, men's golf, lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, and women's tennis.
In total, 11 Oregon programs posted a single-year APR of 980 or higher, including the eight mentioned above that reached the 1,000 threshold, along with soccer (986), football (981) and baseball (980).
The women's golf program earned a perfect 1,000 APR score for the seventh consecutive year, while women's tennis achieved the 1,000 mark for the fifth consecutive year. Both programs also have perfect multi-year APR scores of 1,000.
"We are extremely proud of the consistently high academic achievement of University of Oregon student-athletes," Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens said. "Their excellence in both the classroom and competition reflects their continued hard work and focus, and supporting their academic goals is a top priority for our department. We're also incredibly thankful for the dedicated team at the Jaqua Center, whose guidance and support are critical in helping our student-athletes reach their full potential."
The APR is the NCAA's annual measure of academic performance, and it tracks the eligibility and retention of student-athletes each term. Programs must maintain a multi-year score of 930 or higher to remain eligible for postseason competition.
