Five Ducks Start the Fall Season this Weekend

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's tennis players kicked off the fall season this weekend in two tournaments.
In the ITA All-American Championships, Vlad Breazu defeated Azuma Visaya from the University of Hawaii, 6-4, 7-6 (7-0) to advance to the round of 32. In the second round, Breazu was defeated by Dhakshinewar Suresh (6-4, 2-6, 7-6(4) from Wake Forest. Suresh entered the season as the No. 3 overall ranked singles player in the opening ITA rankings. Breazu faced Peter Jovanovic (Mississippi State) in the consolation bracket and lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Four more Ducks made their season debuts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic this weekend. Sam Olszakowski and Matthew Burton reached the semifinals of the doubles draw after defeating Deacan Thomas/Karan Raghavedra (Indiana) 6-4 and Chad Miller/Vincent Yang (Northwestern) 7-6(3), before falling to Maximus Dussault/Collin Beduhn (TCU) 6-2. Pierre Mouesca and Olszakowski each reached the quarterfinals in singles.
