NFL #ProDucks: Week 1

The 2025 NFL season is underway with 45 former Oregon players under contract with 23 teams. Six Ducks made their professional debut in week one, after setting a program record with 10 picks in the 2025 draft.
While the rookies look to work to find their footing on new rosters, veteran ProDuck Justin Herbert set the standard for the season with an impressive performance in Sao Palo, Brazil. Returning to the Sunday stage, Troy Dye, Jevon Holland, Bucky Irving and Evan Williams had marquee performances as well.

Los Angeles Chargers 27, Kansas City Chiefs 21
Justin Herbert secured his first win of the season, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs. The quarterback completed 25-of-34 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 32 yards on the ground capped by a game-sealing scramble. The win marked Herbert's first over the Chiefs, snapping a seven-game streak by the rivals.
Troy Dye contributed five tackles, including three solo, in the Chargers' opener and earned an 80.4 tackling grade from Pro Football Focus. Jamaree Caldwell, a third-round pick in the 2025 draft, made his debut on the Los Angeles defensive line.
Jeffrey Bassa, selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the NFL draft, made his professional debut playing 16 snaps on special teams for Kansas City.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23, Atlanta Falcons 20
Buccaneers' running back Bucky Irving began his 2025 campaign with the first receiving touchdown of his career. He caught four passes for eight yards and picked up 37 rushing yards on 14 carries. Irving looks to best a stellar rookie season after totaling 1,122 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns and 392 receiving yards last year.
Tez Johnson was targeted once in his NFL debut, but unable to make a catch while playing eight snaps at receiver. Johnson finished the preseason with 12 catches, 82 yards and a touchdown after being selected by the Buccaneers in the 7th round of the 2025 draft.
Brandon Dorlus played 29 snaps on the Falcons' defensive line and five snaps on special teams.
Green Bay Packers 27, Detroit Lions 13
Evan Williams picked off an interception from Lion's quarterback Jared Goff in the red zone, the second interception of his career. Williams added three tackles and posted a 90.5 overall defensive grade from PFF, the second-highest defensive grade by a safety in week one.
Penei Sewell made his 52nd career start with the Lions, playing 67 snaps at right tackle. Sewell posted a 70.8 overall offensive grade from PFF.
Washington Commanders 21, New York Giants 6
Josh Conerly Jr., one of two first-round picks from the Ducks last season, started at right tackle and played 70 snaps for the Commanders.
Jevon Holland made his first start in New York after four seasons in Miami. Holland earned an 81.6 tackling grade from PFF, recording 8 total tackles and defended a pass. Kayvon Thibodeaux made his first start of the season, recording two tackles while playing 52 snaps on the Giants' defense. Thibodeaux combined with Abdul Carter for one of three sacks on Washington's Jayden Daniels.
Minnesota Vikings 27, Chicago Bears 24
Noah Sewell started his third season with the Bears, leading the team with a career-high nine tackles. Sewell earned a 77.9 run-defense grade from PFF in the season opener.

Denver Broncos 20, Tennessee Titans 12
Bo Nix went 25-of-40 for 176 yards and a touchdown, leading the Broncos to their first win of the season. Nix added 18 yards on eight rushing attempts. Nix connected with former Oregon teammate Troy Franklin on four passes. Franklin totaled 44 yards, including an 18-yard catch while playing 45 snaps. Alex Forsyth played four snaps on Denver's special teams.
Arizona Cardinals 20, New Orleans Saints 13
Third-round draft pick Jordan Burch made his NFL debut, tallying two solo tackles in the Cardinals' win. Burch earned a 71.7 pass-rush grade from PFF.
Juwan Johnson gained 76 yards on eight catches for New Orleans. Johnson led the Saints' receiving efforts, averaging 9.5 yards per carry, highlighted by a 21-yard pass from Spencer Rattler. Ugo Amadi, entering his ninth professional season and third with the Saints, played 18 snaps on special teams.
San Francisco 49ers 17, Seattle Seahawks 13
Deommodore Lenoir posted two tackles in a start to begin his fifth season with the 49ers. Lenoir earned a 75.61 coverage grade and 75.1 tackling grade from PFF in San Francisco's victory.
Indianapolis Colts 33, Miami Dolphins 8
DeForest Buckner recorded three tackles in the Colts' decisive win over Miami. Buckner has surpassed 600 total tackles as he enters his sixth season with the Colts.

Las Vegas Raiders 20, New England Patriots 13
Jackson Powers-Johnson started at right guard for the Raiders, playing 63 snaps on the offensive line and five on special teams.
Jacksonville Jaguars 26, Carolina Panthers 10
Arik Armstead notched a tackle while playing 49 snaps on defense in the Jaguars' win. Johnny Mundt made his first appearance with Jacksonville, playing 33 snaps at tight end and nine on special teams.
DJ Johnson played 16 snaps with the Panthers' defense.
Los Angeles Rams 14, Houston Texans 9
Terrence Ferguson played five snaps on special teams for the Rams in his NFL debut.
Jamal Hill played 16 snaps on the Texans' special teams.
Philadelphia Eagles 24, Dallas Cowboys 20
TJ Bass played four snaps on special teams for the Cowboys.
