EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon ended a 10-game skid with a much-needed 83-72 victory over Penn State on Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena.
Seniors Nate Bittle and Takai Simpkins led the way with 22-point apiece, combining for 44 of Oregon's 83 points. Bittle added seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks, while Simpkins connected on four of five three-point attempts and made all eight of his free throws.
"Nate made some really good passes out of the post when they doubled," head coach Dana Altman said. "He knew the double was coming, and he did a good job there with the exception of the one he threw out of bounds in the first half. I thought he made really good reads. TK played really well and shot it really well, too. He and Dez (Dezdrick Lindsay) gave us a big lift."

Lindsay provided a spark off the bench, pouring in a career-high 16 points and dishing five assists as Oregon's second unit outscored Penn State's bench 27-9. The Ducks shot a season-best 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from three and 50.0 percent overall, capping the efficient afternoon off with an 85.7 percent effort from the free-throw line.
"Our ball movement was definitely better," Altman said. "We finished some shots. We hit a lot more threes than we have been hitting, but it was out of good ball movement."

Bittle helped Oregon establish control with a pair of early baskets in the paint and Lindsay connected on four-of-six early shots to finish with 10 points in the half.
