EUGENE, Ore. — The Ducks secured a 4-2 victory over Purdue on Sunday in Eugene to improve to 10-0 at home.
Oregon (12-3) opened the afternoon by claiming the doubles point. The No. 1 pair of Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca edged Nour Fathalla and Henrik Villanger 7-6 (7-3), while Cameron Burton and Lachlan Robertson sealed the point with a 6-3 win over Juan David Velasquez and Jacob Lee at No. 3. Purdue's Nikola Jovic and Maj Premzl earned a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.
The Ducks clinched the match with three singles victories. Mouesca earned a straight-set win at No. 2, defeating Villanger 6-2, 6-3. Matthew Burton battled back at No. 4 singles to top Velasquez 5-7, 6-2, 7-5, and Russell Soohoo rallied at No. 6 to beat Jovic 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Purdue (4-9) picked up singles wins from Fathalla at No. 1, who defeated Vlad Breazu 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, and Lee at No. 5 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Robertson.
The No. 3 singles match between Oregon's Sam Olszakowski and Purdue's Premzl went unfinished with Olszakowski leading 6-4, 2-6, 5-3 when the dual was decided.
