Football Practice Report: March 31
03/31/26 | Football
The Ducks resumed spring drills Tuesday following a pause for final exams and spring break.
EUGENE, Ore. — Spring football practice resumed Tuesday for the Oregon football team, which practiced inside Autzen Stadium early in the day.
The Ducks began spring drills in mid-March, holding two workouts before pausing for final exams and then spring break. Tuesday's practice was the first 13 more, prior to the Spring Game on April 25 in Autzen Stadium.
Tuesday's practice was the first of this spring with pads on, as the Ducks ramped up the physicality in their first April workout.
Following Tuesday's practice, head coach Dan Lanning met with local media, as did offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu and defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei. Video of those interviews is embedded below.

Some highlights from coach Lanning …
On Tuesday's return to practice: "A good first day in pads. You come off a little bit of a break, you're anxious to see what the guys look like. And it was competitive. Some pads popping, some guys really getting after it. You know, gotta control our emotions at times better, but that's gonna happen when you throw the pads on."
On the addition of Yale transfer Michael Bennett III to the offensive line: "He's obviously a really intelligent player from where he's coming from, but you love the personality. You love the fight. O line is really all about brotherhood, right? You see that with Michael and the way that he works, the intention and the growth opportunities right there for him and what this place is going to do."
On the leadership of veterans Laloulu and Uiagalelei: "I think people lead in different ways. Poncho has definitely always been a vocal leader; I think that happens a lot at center. You think about some guys that have played that position for us here, you become a communicator really early in your career. And you know, Matayo, Teitum (Tuioti), some of those guys that have come back, they've proven over time that they have a vested interest, and their voices have grown since they've been on campus. They've grown in their leadership."
