The Ducks kicked off the second full week of preseason camp Monday.
EUGENE, Ore. — The second full week of preseason camp opened Monday for the Oregon football team, which practiced on its new outdoor fields before transitioning into the Moshofsky Center for the final few periods of the day.
The Ducks are now less than three weeks out from opening the season at home against Boise State on Sept. 5.
Following Monday's practice, quarterbacks coach Koa Ka'ai and defensive line coach Tony Tuioti met with local media. Video of those interviews is embedded below.

Some highlights from coach Ka'ai …
On how the quarterbacks fared in Saturday's scrimmage: "I think those guys made good decisions. We had one turnover that was on a batted ball, but beyond that, I thought those guys did a really good job of understanding the situation in the game. Not playing every down like it's first down. I think all four of those guys have really made improvements this fall camp. I know everybody says that, but from spring till now, I can name you what Dylan, KJ, Brock and Dante have improved on. So, pretty sound first scrimmage. Probably one of the better ones we've had since we've been here. So yeah, pretty impressed by those guys."
On how Dante Moore's whirlwind summer impacted his growth: "He's a very private kid, and he's a professional, and so I think he does a really good job of separating not just his travels for all the accolades he's garnered and all those things — the cover of EA Sports and all that stuff. I think he's also in his personal life, he's gone out, he's spent some time away from the game and some time relaxing, which I think he needs. But he does a really good job of separating the two. When it's time to work, it's time to work. When it's time to play, it's time to play. When it's time to kind of get away, it's time to get away. … He's earned the right to do some of those things. But he does a really good job of not letting the two worlds blend. You know, none of that carries over back into our building, which I definitely appreciate."
On the impact of facing Oregon's elite defense in practice: "I think every coach would say this: like, you want practice to be harder than the game, right? And there's a bunch of places where that is the case, and I can tell you without a doubt, that's 100 percent the case here. Where you have to go ahead and you have to account for probably four D linemen who are going to play in the NFL, right? Probably the whole back end at some point in their career is going to get a chance to play in the NFL — probably all 11 guys on defense will get a chance to play in the NFL. And that's just the one-deep, right? And there's numerous guys behind them that will get a chance to play in the league. And so, having to deal with that aspect in practice, it's hard to put value on it."
