OREGON ? While onlookers may wait for someone bigger
and stronger to come along and displace the stalwart who has played in all 25
games since playing as a true freshman, they underestimate his relentless
passion for the game. Exhibits a constant motor and can be counted on to always
be in the right place, which contributes to his ability as an outstanding pass
rusher. Displays a great work ethic and takes advantage of lessons learned from
his first two seasons, while he remains unsurpassed in productivity. Improved
his size and strength during the off season and remains as one of the unit’s most
consistent linemen. Posted defensive line’s top clean lift (330 lbs.) during
winter workouts and runs well, as evidenced by setting a record for players at
his position in the shuttle run.
2006
? Took advantage of
injuries along the defensive line to move into the starting lineup for Oregon’s
final 10 games, accumulating 26 of his tackles during that span. Team’s
second-leading tackler among down linemen (ninth overall) posted a career-high
five stops in the regular-season finale at Oregon
State
in addition to contributing four in the Las Vegas Bowl. Scored tackles for loss
vs. Stanford, UCLA, Portland State,
Arizona,
Oregon
State
and BYU, which included QB sacks against the Cardinal, Vikings and Cougars.
Also blocked a PAT at Washington
State
in addition to receiving team’s top weekly defensive accolades following his
final two regular season games of the year. Named to Pac-10’s second-team
academic all-conference unit.
2005
? Experienced playing
time in all 12 games, led by 25 snaps at Arizona.
Finished the year with all five of his tackles unassisted, including two stops
vs. Montana
as well as solo tackles in each of his last two games of the regular season. In
addition, posted a quarterback sack at Stanford as well as tackles for loss vs.
Montana
and Oregon
State.
Also blocked a punt at Arizona
that led to an Oregon
score.
