Student Athlete of the Week - Oct. 1-7

Teresa Bowns has been named the GoDucks.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 1-7.
Sophomore midfielderTeresa Bowns had a goal and tied a school record with three assists to lead Oregon past Gonzaga 4-1 this past Sunday at Pape Field. Bowns’ big day saw her take over the team lead in points with 13, one more than teammate Allison Newton, on four goals and five assists in 2007. She also assumed the team’s lead in assists, also moving up to a tie for eighth in UO career assists with seven. Bowns’ five assists in 2007 are tied for fourth on the UO single season list.

2007: One of many vying for time at attacking center midfield. Can also play the outside or forward. Terrific spring could propel her into a more prominent role in the offense in 2007. Hit the game-winner in Oregon’s 2-1 exhibition victory over the Seattle Sounders in the team’s spring finale. Also assisted on Allison Newton’s goal in 1-0 spring win versus San Francisco.
2006: Played in all 20 games, starting nine. Two assists for two points and 18 shots on the season. Assisted on Allison Newton’s goal versus Iona and Nicole Garbin’s score against Nevada. Four shot attempts against Portland State. Three shot attempts at Portland.
High School: KingCo MVP as a senior at Redmond High School. Also named to the all-state team. Three-time all KingCo first team selection. Played club soccer for Maple Valley Marauders. Led her U-15 Olympic Development Program team to regional and national championships.
