Ducks Score Four Regional Marks at Cal Collegiate Challenge Day 1

BERKELEY, Calif. ? The University of Oregon track and field teams continued action in their penultimate weekend of the regular season, and scored four men’s and women’s regional marks in first day action Friday in the California Collegiate Challenge at the University of California.
Sophomore Lucy Cridland turned in UO’s biggest personal best at Edwards Stadium with her five-foot, two-inch discus improvement (fourth, 158-7) and also met the regional standard (155-2) for the first time in her career.
Senior pole vaulter Emily Enders tied for fifth place (12-5 1/2) and met or bettered the regional standard (12-5 1/2) for the fourth time this outdoor season.
Other Oregon women’s first-day competitors included sophomores Kalindra McFadden (long jump, 19th, 17-10 3/4) and Megan Maloney (hammer, fourth, 166-9) and freshman Jasmine Kelly (high jump, seventh, 5-3).
On the men’s side, a pair of Duck newcomers added regional marks as freshman Ashton Eaton (long jump, first, 24-2 1/2w, w:2.1) and graduate student Brian Richotte (hammer, second, 216-9) were just shy of their season bests of 24-5 1/2 and 218-8, respectively.
Other UO men that competed Friday included senior David Moore (pole vault, fifth, 16-0 3/4), sophomore Alexey Shkuratov (high jump, eighth, 6-4 3/4) and freshman Colin Witter-Tilton (fourth, 15-7).
