RECENT ACTION
The Ducks last competed in the NCAA Outdoor Championships two weeks ago at Sacramento, Calif., and their 18 entries (11M / 7W) helped UO men and women to 10th and 27th-place team finishes, respectively, with 20 and nine points.
Skipper became the first Duck to ever win five NCAA outdoor titles (including indoors) with his clearance of 18-0 1/2 (5.50m), while Rupp scored his second runner-up honor in the 10,000m (28:56.19). Other Duck men’s All-Americans included senior Ryan Brandel (javelin, seventh, 225-11) and junior Marcus Dillon (400m, ninth-semifinal, 46.18), while redshirt sophomore Shadrack Kiptoo-Biwott missed by one place in the 10,000m (ninth, 29:13.43).
Three UO women scored All-America honors ? Yurkovich (javelin, fifth, 170-0 (51.83m)), Henry (hammer, fifth, 214-9 (65.46m)) and Noble (800m, eighth, 2:04.79). Two other Duck freshman distance runners ? Nicole Blood and Keara Sammons ? nearly added All-America honors and were the top freshman finishers in the 5,000m (15th, 16:50.00) and 10,000m (34:01.09 ), respectively.
