Put together one of the best seasons by an Oregon reliever joining Jimmie Sherfy (2012, 2013) and Kenyon Yovan (2017) as the only finalists for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award in program history … Named an All-American by six separate organizations while also claiming first-team All-Big Ten Conference honors … A first-team All-America pick by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while earning second-team honors from D1Baseball, Baseball America and Perfect Game … Finished the season 5-1 with a 1.66 ERA and one save … Allowed just 12 runs (10 earned) on 25 hits in 54.1 innings of work while striking out 84 with just 19 walks … Held opposing hitters to a .137 batting average, tied for the second best in program history … Made 31 appearances on the mound, the fourth most in the Big Ten Conference and the 12th most in the nation … 84 strikeouts ranked 10th in the Big Ten … The only pitcher in Division I with 84-or-more strikeouts while pitching less than 55 innings … In Big Ten Conference play, finished 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA and one save … Fanned 38 in 26.0 innings while allowing 11 runs (9 earned) on just 14 hits with nine walks … Held opposing B1G … vs. Youngstown State (Feb. 20): Did not allow a run while striking out three and walking three in 2.1 innings in a 3-0 win … vs. Arizona (Feb. 27): Named to the all-tournament team at the Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic after tossing a then career-high 4.1 innings in a 7-2 win … Picked up first career win after fanning a career-high nine Wildcats while walking just one and allowing three hits while tossing a career-high 69 pitches … vs. Xavier (March 10): Struck out three in 2.0 innings of work in a 10-0 win … vs. Indiana (March 13-15): Made a pair of appearances in a series for the first time in career … Gave up a pair of unearned runs in four innings in the series while fanning four in two outings … Held the Hoosiers to a .154 batting average … Picked up the win in game one after taking the mound with the game tied in the seventh inning with runners at the corners and two outs … Enticed a ground ball to get out of the frame without any damage done … After the Ducks took the lead with a run in the bottom of the inning, struck out the side in the eighth after yielding a leadoff single … Finished game one tossing 1.1 innings with three Ks in a 3-2 win … Made four appearances out of the bullpen with three of them coming in the final 11 games … Did not allow a run, a hit or a walk in the four outings while striking out six in 5.0 innings of work … vs. Columbia (March 1): Tossed a scoreless eighth inning picking up first career strikeout in Oregon’s 35-1 win … vs. Saint Mary’s (May 7): Made first appearance in 67 days (38 games) getting the final five outs in an 8-1 win while fanning a season-hit two in the effort … vs. Nebraska (May 24): Got Oregon’s final out in the Big Ten Tournament striking out the only batter faced … vs. Utah Valley (May 30): Pitched a season-high two innings holding UVU scoreless in the eighth and ninth innings of the Eugene Regional game … Fanned a pair of Wolverines in the outing.
HIGH SCHOOL
The No. 27 ranked right-handed pitcher and No. 85 overall player in California according to Perfect Game … Helped Cardinal Newman to a CIF Northern Regional Championship in 2024 … As a senior, hit .356 with 36 hits, 19 RBI and two home runs … Finished 2-0 on the mound, recording two saves … Made 11 appearances, posting a 0.49 ERA … As a junior, made four appearances on the mound and picked up a win … Struck out 18 in 11 innings … Finished with a 1.91 ERA … Posted a .308 batting average in eight games at the plate … As a sophomore, pitched 15 innings, fanning 17 … Finished 1-2 and posted a 4.67 ERA … High school coach was Derek Benedetti.
