Two-time Pac-10 competitor is one of the more versatile athletes on the team who has raced at all distances between 1,500 and 10,000 meters. 2008 NCAA West Regional qualifier in the steeplechase. Ran on UO’s victorious Pac-10 cross country team in 2006. Is a three-time veteran of the USA Outdoor Junior Championships, and was also a top-15 finisher in the 2006 USA Junior Cross Country Championships.
2009-10: Outdoors - Ran unattached in the 2,000 meter steeplchase at the Oregon Preview. Indoors - Did not compete. Cross Country - Appeared at the Pre’s Trail Pre-View and the Bill Dellinger Invitational.
2008-09: Pac-10 Championships competitor in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Raced four times in the steeple, including a sixth-place finish versus UCLA to help the Ducks defeat the Bruins. Was 13th at the Pac-10 Championships. Did not compete indoors. Ran in four cross country races with a second-place showing at the season-opening Pre’s Trail Run. Also ran in the Bill Dellinger Invitational, the Mike Hodges Invitational and the Beaver Classic. Season Bests: Outdoors - 1,500 Meters - 3:55.07, Oregon Relays, Eugene, Ore. (4/14.09).
2007-08: Raced at distances as short as a mile and as long as 10,000 meters. Saw most of his action in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, where he was an NCAA Regional qualifier. Opened season with a second-place showing at the Pepsi Team Invite (9:10.09). Cut nearly eight seconds off that mark to finish fourth (9:02.37) at the Oregon-UCLA dual meet and help the Ducks defeat the Bruins. Ran career-best 8:52.66 at the Cardinal Invitational to place seventh. Just missed a trip to the NCAA Championships when he placed ninth at the NCAA West Regional in 8:57.19. Redshirted cross country season, and shined in his two races as an unattached entrant. Crossed the line first in the Beaver Classic (24:10) with Duck teammate Patrick Werhane. Added runner-up finish in the Willamette Invitational (23:59). Season Bests: Outdoors - 3,000 Meter Steeplechase - 8:52.66 (PR), Cardinal Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (5/4/08). Indoors - 5,000 Meters - 14:36.30 (PR), MPSF Championships, Seattle, Wash. (3/1/08).
2006-07: USA Junior Championships competitor (Cross Country/10,000 meters). Redshirted track seasons and competed unattached. In the fall, wore Duck jersey in cross country and was one of UO’s top true freshmen. At end of spring, made third appearance in USA Outdoor Junior Championships, finishing seventh in the 10,000 meters. Early in outdoor season ran 5,000 meter outdoor best in Stanford Invitational. Did not race indoors and opted instead to race in the USA Junior Cross Country Championships and was second Duck finisher (14th, 26:51). In fall cross country slate, competed on victorious UO squads in both of his appearances, the Pac-10 Championships and Bill Dellinger Invitational. Season Bests: Outdoors - 1,500 Meters - 3:52.23 (PR), Oregon Twilight, Eugene (5/5/07); 5,000 Meters - 14:36.46 (PR), Stanford Invitational, Stanford (3/30/07).
Prep: Foot Locker Cross Country Championships qualifier as a senior. Three-time Oregon 4A state cross country qualifier, and placed second as a senior and 11th as a junior. In the 4A state track meet, he placed top-five as senior in the 1,500 (fourth, 3:59.73) and 3,000 meters (third, 8:36.45), and finished fourth in both races as a junior (3:55.97/8:55.97). In ’05 national rankings he ranked third in the 5,000 meters (14:38.23), 10th in the 1,500 meters (3:53.99) and 17th in the 3,000 meters (8:30.74). Ran impressive doubles in USA Junior Championships in 2006 (1,500 meters, 10th, 3:55.81; 10,000 meters, 12th) and 2005 (5,000 meters, fifth, 14:38.23; 1,500 meters (ninth, 3:53.99).
