Former University of Illinois offensive lineman Luke Butkus enters his second season as a graduate assistant football coach at the University of Oregon.

The 26-year-old Illinois native, who is the nephew of NFL Hall-of-Fame linebacker Dick Butkus, joined the Ducks’ offensive staff as a replacement for Aleki Pascua, who concluded his three-year graduate assistant appointment at the end of the 2004 season.

Butkus was a three-year starting center and two-time all-Big Ten Conference honoree at Illinois before earning his undergraduate degree in speech communications in 2001.
