Jeff Hawkins

Jeff “Hawk” Hawkins is halfway through his second decade working in Oregon Athletics. He joined the Oregon administrative staff in March 2001 as the Director of Football Operations under former Head Coach Mike Bellotti. Hawkins served in a similar capacity under Bellotti at Chico State from 1985-87.
Since 2004 Jeff has served on the PHIT OAC Committee as the liaison for the athletic department which has been responsible for the design and construction of four state-of-the-art athletic facilities at the University of Oregon including; the PHIT Athletic Medical Facility, the Jaqua Academic Center, the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex, the Marcus Mariota Sports Performance Center and currently the Hayward Field Expansion project.
He was elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director in 2008 and is now primarily responsible for the management of the HDC and the Athletic Department Food Service in addition to providing sports agent education and support to all student-athletes.
Hawkins was the football bowl director for 10 years and he continues to serve as a member of the Rose Bowl Advisory Committee as well as the College Football Playoff Advisory Committee. On the national level Hawkins was Chairman of the AFCA DFO Committee for a decade and continues to serve as an AFCA Trustee. And for the past six years he has served as a member of the Uniform Law Commission subcommittee on sports agent oversight which is responsible for legislation on the state level.
Before joining the Ducks, Hawkins spent 10 years in New Orleans while concurrently wearing multiple hats serving Tulane University, the Sugar Bowl, the New Orleans Saints, Special Olympics and the prestigious Manning Passing Academy. The latter of which he has continued to serve as Camp Director, a role he has had for 22 years.
Originally from Pembroke, Massachusetts, Jeff served in the U.S. Army (1973-76) after graduating from Silver Lake High school, where his teammates included current head football coaches Buddy Teevens (Dartmouth) and Tim Murphy (Harvard). After completing his tour of duty and obtaining an Honorable Discharge, he attended Bridgewater State College (1976-80) where he was a four-year starter at defensive end and was named captain his senior year. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in coaching and a liberal arts degree with a concentration in marketing.
Hawkins spent the next five years in the front office of the New England Patriots before joining Bellotti’s staff at Chico. He also served a five year stint as an assistant football coach at Dartmouth College (1987-91) before turning to athletic administration.
Jeff and Amy his wife reside in Eugene with their daughter Gabe.
