Markhuri Sanders-Frison

Markhuri Sanders-Frison joined the Oregon men's basketball program as director of player development, recruitment and external relations in 2026 after previously serving three seasons on the Ducks' coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
Sanders-Frison returned to Oregon after spending the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Idaho, where he also oversaw player development. He previously served as a graduate assistant for the Ducks from 2022-24 before returning to Eugene for the 2025-26 season in the same role. Sanders-Frison also serves as the player development coach for the Chinese Senior National Team.
During his time at Oregon, Sanders-Frison helped develop all-conference standouts Nate Bittle, Jermaine Couisnard and N'Faly Dante. He was a member of the staff that guided the Ducks to the 2024 Pac-12 Tournament championship and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Sanders-Frison played professionally for nine seasons in Mexico, Australia and Japan. While competing in Japan, he helped Tokyo Excellence win back-to-back NBDL championships, earning Finals MVP honors in 2015 while leading the league in rebounding twice.
Sanders-Frison enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Cal after beginning at Eastern Arizona College and South Plains College. A senior captain for the Golden Bears, he helped lead Cal to the 2010 Pac-10 regular-season championship and finished his final season as the team's leading rebounder.
A Portland, Ore., native, Sanders-Frison graduated from Jefferson High School in 2006. He earned a bachelor's degree in American Studies from California in 2011 before completing a master's degree in higher education leadership from Oregon. Sanders-Frison and his partner, Molly, have one daughter, Berkeley.
