EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Luke Ridnour needed a half to find his groove. When he did, the rest of his teammates followed.
Ridnour scored 24 points - 21 in the second half - as No. 9 Oregon rallied to beat Arizona State 94-73.
Oregon trailed 39-33 at halftime but shot 81 percent in the second half to outscore the Sun Devils 61-34. Included in that offensive output was a 25-2 run that turned a five-point deficit into a 69-51 advantage with 8:46 left to play.
Ridnour scored 10 points during the Ducks' decisive run, while reserve forward Jay Anderson added eight of his 10 points. It was Luke Jackson, however, who put Oregon (10-2, 1-1 Pac-10) up for good with a dunk off a long pass from Robert Johnson for a 52-51 lead. Jackson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
"(The run) just shows the guts of this team," Ridnour said. "We could've folded easily."
The Ducks didn't, and they gave credit after the game to their junior point guard.
"Ridnour just took over the game," Anderson said. "He hit three or four straight shots. When he drove the lane, nobody could stop him."
Arizona State freshman center Ike Diogu led the Sun Devils (9-4, 1-1) with 27 points and eight rebounds. However, Diogu, who made 40 of 44 free throws in Arizona State's last six games, was only 11-for-16 against the Ducks.
Luke Ridnour helped the Ducks to a 25-2 run that turned a five-point deficit into a 69-51 advantage with 8:46 left to play.
The Sun Devils had won five straight, but were overwhelmed by Oregon's sensational shooting performance in the second half. The Ducks went 21-of-28 from the field, including seven 3-pointers. It was the most points allowed in a half by Arizona State since Southern California scored 67 in 1998.
"In the second half, every shot was a perfect shot, every shot had perfect timing," OREGON coach Ernie Kent said.
Arizona State shot 48 percent from the field in the second half but missed on all six of its 3-point attempts and made only 14 of 24 free throws.
"We didn't focus on making free throws, so we didn't make any," Diogu said.
Added Arizona State coach Rob Evans: "In the second half, we just showed a lack of patience. On the road, you've got to make your free throws, and that came up and bit us."
It was the 24th win in 25 games at McArthur Court for the Ducks, who had their 23-game home winning streak snapped by No. 4 Arizona on Thursday night.
Oregon was outrebounded 50-28 in its game against the Wildcats, but responded by beating the Sun Devils on the boards 33-27.
"A lot of the flat first half was the hangover adversity from Thursday's game," Kent said. "Then in the second half, they got into a great rhythm."
