
Thunderstorms Delay Women?s Golfers at ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. ? The Oregon women's golf team got only three holes in before play in the Ping/ASU Invitational was suspended Friday due to persistent thunderstorms in the greater Tempe area. First round play will resume Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. with the second round of the three-round event to follow immediately after.
The Ducks were in the last group of teams to tee off Friday, and four UO golfers were able to complete three holes. Sophomore Therese Wenslow and freshman Kim McCready were both even, sophomore Erin Andrews was 1-over and junior Johnna Nealy (Grants Pass, Ore.) was 3-over. Sophomore Michelle Timpani and junior Jess Carlyon were unable to tee off at the 6,230-yard, par-72 Karsten Golf Course.
