SANTA CLARA, Calif. ? The University of Oregon men's tennis team fell back to the .500 mark after losing 4-3 to Pacific Saturday. The Ducks (7-7) surrendered the doubles point and split the six singles matches. Senior Sven Swinnen, fresh off of a No. 11 ITA national ranking, was unable to play due to illness.

In singles, playing for only the second time since recovering from a wrist injury, Kost was defeated by No. 66 Arnar Sigurdsson, 6-4, 6-3.
Oregon got wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions form first-year players Chad Wilson and Liao. Liao improves to 3-1 in duals, while Wilson is 5-6.
Spencer (Sheldon HS) won at the No. 3 position, defeating the Tigers' Vladimir Zdravkovic, 6-4, 6-1. Spencer is now 6-4 in duals, good for second on the team.
The Ducks try to snap a four-match losing streak when they take on Santa Clara tomorrow at noon.
