Sophomore Jen May led the team with three goals and three assists. Redshirt freshman Alison Leiner completed two goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Carrie Bateman had one goal for the Ducks as well.
“We had good leadership from our captains today,” Coach Jen Larsen said. “Good leadership from Jen May, Alison Leiner, and from Carrie Bateman, who came from the defensive end to stick her shot.”

On defense, redshirt freshman Anna Poponyak started as goalkeeper. Sophomore goalkeeper Allison O'Brien came in with five minutes remaining in the first half and remained through the second.
“This was a good team effort against a good team,” Larsen said. “We came out with a good victory in a close match.”
The Ducks will remain in Farmville to square off against the Longwood Lancers on Sunday at 8 a.m.
