Women's Golf Finishes Sixth in Heather Fall Memorial

DENVER ? The University of Oregon women's golf team enjoyed a strong final round Tuesday in the Heather Fall Memorial and climbed five spots to place sixth overall in the event hosted by the University of Colorado at Omni Interlochen Golf Course.
Oregon shot a third-round score of 295 ? the low team score of the day and one of only two sub-300 efforts Tuesday ? thanks to three individual scores of 74 or better on the par 72, 6,221-yard course.
Freshman Kendra Little led UO in the final standings (11th-tie, 78-71-72-221), and was joined by two other Ducks in the top 30 ? junior Cathryn Bristow (24th-tie, 77-71-77-225) and sophomore Felicia Eastick (28th-tie, 74-78-74-226).
Sophomore Kate Hildahl tied UO's low round of the day with her final round 72 and ended 37th overall (79-79-72-230), and senior Victoria Wenslow rounded out the Duck squad (65th-tie, 80-78-81-239).
Little climbed 11 spots in the final standings Tuesday and carded UO's low score for the second straight round and third time in her two collegiate tourneys this fall. Hildahl led UO for the first time in three rounds this season and fifth time in her 29 collegiate career rounds.
Colorado remained atop the leaderboard (301-287-297-885), and won by four strokes over Oklahoma (second, 289-299-301-889), and Idaho followed in third place (300-290-300-890).
Other teams in the top 10 included Colorado State (fourth, 293-299-307-899), UC Davis (fifth, 300-296-304-900), Oregon (sixth, 308-298-295-901), Oregon State (seventh, 310-292-303-905), Hawai'I (eighth, 299-297-310-906), Fresno State (ninth, 303-296-309-908) and San Diego State (10th, 306-299-311-916).
In the individual standings, Kayla Morinaga of Portland State climbed one position Tuesday to win (74-69-71-214) by two strokes over first-day leader Dominique Pytlewski of Colorado (second, 71-70-75-216), and five players tied for third place at 219.
