Oregon Completes Day One at Seminole Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Oregon women's tennis team finished day one of competition on Friday afternoon at the Seminole Classic at Florida State's Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Play was broken down into five small eight person brackets and also a round robin singles bracket.
In the black bracket Stephanie MacFarlane fell in the first round but battle back on the consolation side to play for fifth place tomorrow.
In the garnet bracket Carmen Seremetawon her opening round match before falling in the semifinals and will play for a third place finish on Saturday.
A similar scenario played out in the gold bracket as Ana Cecilio Olivos was victorious in her first match of the day but fell in the semifinals. She will also play for third tomorrow.
Siobhan Cavan, like the two seniors before her, will also be competing for third tomorrow in the white bracket after winning her opening match but losing in the semifinals.
In the round robin bracket, Mimi Songermsawas represented the Ducks. The sophomore dropped her first match of the day and lost again in the afternoon. She will play the final leg of the round robin tomorrow afternoon.
In doubles play (two brackets), two sets of Ducks advanced to the semifinals with MacFarlane and Pavlina Smatova winning 9-7 and Claudia Hirt and Olivos pulling out a 6-1 (retired) match.
