Ducks Make First Big Ten Road Trip

UO visits Iowa on Friday and Nebraska on Sunday.
EUGENE, Ore. – The 64th-ranked Oregon women's tennis team hits the road for its first conference road trip, beginning with a Friday matchup at No. 41 Iowa (3 p.m. PT) before a Sunday tilt at Nebraska (10 a.m. PT).

Oregon (10-5, 1-2) moved up in the ITA rankings to No. 64 after a 4-0 sweep over 61st-ranked Washington State last week, the Ducks' second straight sweep over a ranked team following a victory over then-64th-ranked Rutgers. UO's last match was a 4-1 setback to 17th-ranked Washington, with freshman Virginia Crocker claiming the Ducks' point last Sunday at the Student Tennis Center.

Through 15 dual matches, UO has compiled a 44-19 overall singles record while its doubles teams are a combined 25-9. Seven players in the Ducks' singles lineup boast winning records, including an 11-2 mark from sophomore Bridget Mihulka, a 7-3 record from junior Tilde Jagare and a 7-3 record from Crocker.

Jagare has played every match at the top spot in the lineup and picked up her first career ranked win against Maryland on March 6, while she and Symons own a team-high nine doubles wins during the dual campaign.
Oregon's freshman doubles duo of Hadley Appling and Virginia Crocker are a team-best 6-1 so far this spring, playing at the third position. Hinata Furutani and Juliet Santitto are 7-2 on court two. The Ducks have picked up the doubles point in 12 of 15 dual matches.

The Hawkeyes (8-7, 2-2) are coming off back-to-back losses against No. 35 Michigan (4-0) and Michigan State (4-2) while going 1-5 against ranked teams. Mia Mack, ranked No. 57 in the latest ITA singles rankings, leads Iowa with an 11-2 spring mark. Mack and partner Daianne Hayashida make up the nation's 28th-ranked doubles team.

Nebraska (8-5, 1-3) snapped a three-match losing streak last Sunday with a 4-3 win over the Spartans for its first Big Ten victory. Natalia Trigosso (5-0) and Yuzu Miyoshi (4-0) remain unbeaten this spring in singles play.

A season ago, the Ducks defeated the Huskers 4-2 and suffered a tight 4-3 loss to Iowa. Oregon is 4-4 all-time against Nebraska while going 2-2 against the Hawkeyes.
