
No. 49 Lobos Top Ducks, 6-1

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The Oregon men's tennis team split its road trip this weekend, suffering a 6-1 loss to 49th-ranked New Mexico on Saturday evening.
The Lobos improve to 3-4 on the season, while the Ducks fall to 5-4 on the year.
For the first time this season,
Chris Parkes and Johnny Parkes dealt Alexander Cornelissen and Mike Myrhed their first loss of the year, 8-5, at the No. 2 position. Graeme Kassautzki and Joe Wood quickly went up 5-0 and only allowed one point in an 8-1 win over Francisco Gallardo and Stephen Wiechert at No. 3.
In singles action, three matches needed at least a tiebreaker to get through.
Jones, currently ranked 35th in the nation, won the first set but went into a 10-point tiebreaker in the third set to defeat Verdasco (7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2) at the No. 1 singles position.
Johnny Parkes defeated Gallardo 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 2 spot, while Kassautzki held a slight 4-3 lead in both sets and each time won 6-3 over Embry at No. 3.
Cornelissen provided the solo Oregon singles win, battling in the longest match of the day to eventually knock off Pajkowski 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 4.
In the fifth spot, Romeo Mortera suffered just his second loss of the
season, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, to Miles Bugby.
The final Lobos victory belonged to Joe Wood, who knocked off Myhed, 6-2, 6-3.
