
Oregon Knocks Off UTSA, 5-2

EUGENE, Ore. -The Oregon men's tennis team secured another victory at the Oregon Tennis Complex, 5-2 over Texas-San Antonio, to stay a perfect 3-0 at home this season. The Ducks lost the doubles point to start the day, but won five of six singles matches to earn the victory.
Alexander Cornelissen had a great day for the Ducks, winning his No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-3 to set the tone for the day. Ayrton WIbowo and Jose Izquierdo continued their phenomenal freshman debuts, winning 6-4, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-3 respectively.
Oregon's lone loss came in the marathon match of the day. Cornelissen was nearly finished with his second set before Marcos Verdasco and Rodrigo Morgado even finished their first set. Morgado won the match 6-4, 6-3.
This was the Oregon men's only match of the weekend but the Oregon women's tennis team will be back on the courts on Sunday afternoon to battle Houston after knocking off Idaho and Portland on Friday.
