Oregon - Oakland postgame quotes
12/20/09 | Men's Basketball
Oregon 72, Oakland 60
December 19, 2009

Ernie Kent - Head Coach
Thoughts on the game: “Before the game I talked to the team and I told them I was excited to see them play because they have been practicing so well and I knew they would play well. We are growing as a team. They played a very good basketball game.
On the defense: “They played well defensively against a very good offensive team. The last six minutes were an exceptional way to close out a basketball game for a young team.”
On practice: “Our whole team is practicing well. There is a new air of confidence starting to build. We need to continue to practice well, play well, and come together.”
On improvements: “You can feel it in practice and in the locker room. These guys are playing well. We have great teachers in our veteran players.”
“We are starting to get better. We are mentally tougher and starting to grow, and hopefully it is coming at the right time.”
On Dunigan: “He was the difference in the game I think in the paint.”
On the game overall: “Individually and collectively, we did a lot of things right tonight.”
----------------------------------------------
Jeremy Jacob - So., F
On Porter: “He is getting his rhythm back. He is coming back and is going to help us a lot.”
On the win: “It means a lot. We need to get wins at home before we go on the road for Pac-10.”
On the effort: “Yes, I think this was the best effort we have had this year. Oakland is such a good team and the way we played against them was good.”
On Dunigan: “He played well and bounced back real well. He is getting his rhythm back with that double double.”
On next steps: “We want to go undefeated at home, gel together, get Tajuan back, and hopefully get Joevan back as well.”
----------------------------------------------
Michael Dunigan - So., C
On his own play: “I have been fluctuating up and down with my play, but it felt good to get the “W” tonight.”
“I have been playing great in practice but having trouble transferring it to games, but tonight I was able to. We got the win.”
On frustrations: “My mom has been telling me 'just let the game come to you' and so I did. Actually, yes, tonight I went and got it.”
On next steps: “It's all about figuring out who has the hottest hand and getting them the ball. This team doesn't have just one star, we are all stars and we are capable of going off.”
