02/01/09 | Men's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Calvin Haynes had 15 points Saturday to lead Oregon State to a 57-54 Pacific-10 Conference win over Oregon in the 330th ``civil war'' meeting between the schools.
Omari Johnson added 14 points for Oregon State (10-10, 4-5), which has four wins in the first half of the Pac-10 schedule for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
Tajuan Porter had 22 points to lead Oregon (6-15, 0-9).
Oregon State overcame a 12-point first-half deficit and trailed 35-30 at halftime.
The Beavers took the lead for good at 42-39 on Haynes' 3-pointer with 12:56 remaining. A desperation 3-pointer by Oregon's Matthew Humphrey from just inside halfcourt as time expired was off the mark.
