
Bristow & Little Lead UO in Pac-10 Opener

STANFORD, Calif. ? Senior Cathryn Bristow and sophomore Kendra Little were tied for 21st and 27th overall to lead the No. 36 University of Oregon in Friday's first-day action in the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Golf Championships Sponsored by Duramed.
The returning All-Pac-10 Second Team picks Bristow and Little shot scores of 75 and 76 on the par 71 course, and were followed by freshman Ashley Edwards (37th-t, 79) and sophomores Erica Omlid and Monika Graf who were tied for 45th-place with scores of 82.
The Huapai, New Zealand native Bristow carded a birdie on the par-3 14th hole, shot par scores on 13 holes, bogeyed three holes and double-bogeyed once Friday.
Bristow's team low score was her seventh in 22 rounds for the Ducks this season and 41st overall in 109 collegiate career rounds. Friday also marked her 14th score of 75 or better in the 2008-09 campaign.
In comparison Friday, Little carded three birdies, parred nine holes, bogeyed four holes and double-bogeyed twice.
Bristow has played in the event three other times (38th in '08, 27th in '07, 40th in '06), while Little placed 20th in last year's UCLA-hosted event. UO's other three entries ? sophomores Monika Graf and Erica Omlid and freshman Ashley Edwards ? all made their event debuts.
Overall in the team standings, No. 2 UCLA shot a 7-over 291, and led by one stroke over No. 4 USC (second, 292), while No. 1 Arizona State followed in third place (293) another stroke back.
No. 21 Arizona stood fourth (298), just ahead of No. 26 California (fifth, 298), No. 24 Stanford (sixth, 302), No. 40 Washington (seventh, 305), No. 71 Washington State (eighth, 306), No. 64 Oregon State (ninth, 309) and No. 36 Oregon (10th, 312).

Looking ahead, the Ducks return for second day action Saturday with the first tee time at 8:30 a.m., while the event's final round starts Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
