Oregon - Arizona postgame quotes
Jan. 16, 2010
Head Coach Ernie Kent
On the game: “We played hard, but we missed a lot of shots. The ball was not going in today. Our confidence got better as the game went on and it's not lost, we just couldn't make the shots.”
On the team: “I told my guys to drone out the noise and focus on us and the game only. The road is good for us to grow and come together. We need to find ourselves and get back to our game.”
On what's next: “We need to grind starting Monday at practice. We need to make plays and finish plays.”
On the conference: “The conference is better than what we're getting credit for. We have very competitive teams.”
On LeKendric Longmire: “I'm proud of him. He's come back in practice and games. He gets cramps from playing so hard. I'm proud of him, and he's really becoming a leader.”
On Tajuan Porter: “TP has to get back on his game.”
-----------------------------------
LeKendric Longmire - Jr., F
On the difference between this year and last year: “I know we're a better team than last year as a unit.”
On the game: “We played a lot harder this game, but we have to play all 40 minutes. We need more shots and more stops. Losing at home sucks, it is a terrible feeling.”
On problems with the team: “Guys know the problem is defense. I don't know how guys can continue to let their guys score.”
On ways to improve: “Hard, hard work only. We need to challenge each other. Players can't be scared to jump on other players to work harder. I need to take that responsibility.”
----------------------------------------
Michael Dunigan - So., C
On the game: “We lost our swag since we've come back from the road.”
On how to improve: “We need to get rid of all the noise. We just need to practice.”
On going on the road next week: “It'll be better for the team to go on the road so we can come back home stronger.”
