EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon women's tennis team cruised to their second consecutive sweep on Sunday night, defeating Portland State 7-0 inside the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks defeated Eastern Washington by the same score earlier in the day.
The Portland State team was at an early disadvantage, as two transfers on the team had still not been cleared by the NCAA and therefore could not compete. PSU defaulted at No. 3 doubles, No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles.
Julia Metzger won her fifth straight match with a win at No. 1 singles, her first time playing at that level for the Ducks.
Oregon will have next weekend off before playing host to Sacramento State and Nevada on February 5 and February 7, respectively.
