EUGENE, Ore. - Once again Oregon used a second-half surge to remain unbeaten in a 74-48 victory over Idaho on Friday afternoon at McArthur Court.
The Ducks (4-0) opened the Oregon Invitational with a win led by junior Amanda Johnson, who fell just one rebound short of a double-double, with a game-high 20 points and game-high nine rebounds.
The Vandals (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season, shooting just 33.3 percent (18-54) from the floor and turning the ball over 30 times. Junior point guard Nia Jackson guided the offense with 10 points and a game and career-high seven steals, as well as a game-high seven assists.
But Oregon's largest contribution came from its bench as the reserves outscored Idaho's bench 30-11.
Freshman Deanna Weaver led the bench scoring 13 points for the Ducks, while junior guard Ashley Buis added eight and knocked down two buckets from the outside.
Senior Nicole Canepa scored a season-high seven points off the bench and also added a season-high eight rebounds.

Notes: For the second straight game, Oregon handed a previously unbeaten opponent its first defeat of the year…Oregon has now opened the season 4-0 for the second straight year, and would best last year's 4-0 start with a win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday…Idaho guard Shaena Kuehu's 3-pointer at the 19:27 mark was the only good field goal of the game until Oregon's Amanda Johnson drained a 7-foot baseline jumper with 14:38 left in the first…the teams combined to shoot 1-of-18 during that stretch…it also marked the longest opening stretch for Oregon to score its first basket this season...Jasmin Holliday has now scored 402 points in her career, scoring her 400th on a steal and breakaway lay-up with 8:00 left in the second half.
