Oregon Duck Invitational: Round 2 Results
03/23/10 | Men's Golf
JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- The University of Oregon ended the first day of the Oregon Duck Invitational two shots clear of Arkansas for the top spot with 18 holes remaining at Shadow Hills Country Club.
The tournament hosts shot 5-under 715 through Monday's first two rounds at the 7,020-yard, par 72 course, led by Eugene Wong (-4, 140), Jack Dukeminier (-3, 141) and Daniel Miernicki (-2, 142). Wong is in a four-way tie for first with T.J. Bordeaux of Pacific, Oregon State's Casey King and Idaho's Stefan Richardson.
Tuesday's individual battle should be a dandy as 16 players are under par and within three shots of the lead.
The Ducks and Razorbacks traded positions from Round 1 to Round 2 and are the only schools under par. The Beavers are a distant third at 6-over 726. Washington State, the third Pac-10 squad in the 13-team field, is fifth at 12-over 732.
Oregon received contributions from all six golfers in its lineup. Isaiah Telles (+4, 148) scored with a 73 in the first round and Sean Maekawa (+2, 146) and Andrew Vijarro (+3, 147) chipped in with a 72 and 73, respectively, in the second round.
UO's Marshall Colby (+6, 150), Jack Paton (+8, 152), Tyler Parker (+8, 152) and Jack Pennington (+25, 169) all played as individuals.
The third and final round takes place on Tuesday, starting with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Admission is free.
