Little Leads No. 33 Ducks in Bruin Wave Invite Final Round

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – University of Oregon junior Kendra Little logged her best round of the spring and led UO in the final standings Wednesday in the Bruin Wave Invitational, while the No. 33 Ducks finished in 10th place.
In the third- and final-round team standings, the Ducks (295-307-303-905) held onto their previous round's position in the 18-team field that was topped by No. 5 USC (first, 286-294-286-866).
No. 1 Arizona State followed two strokes behind in second place (294-288-286-868), and the top five was rounded out by No. 1 UCLA (third, 286-290-296-872), No. 9 Pepperdine (fourth, 288-292-293-873) and No. 8 Arizona (fifth, 283-299-293-875).
Other teams ahead of the Ducks included No. 21 New Mexico (eighth-tie, 295-300-288-883), No. 34 Washington (seventh, 292-300-292-884), No. 13 Stanford (eighth, 292-295-298-885) and No. 44 San Francisco (ninth, 312-291-297-900).
Oregon bested eight teams in the overall standings – No. 42 UNLV (11th, 294-301-311-906), No. 54 San Diego State (12th, 302-309-306-917), Oregon State (13th, 310-311-320-941), Long Beach State (14th, 308-312-325-945), Cal State Northridge (15th-t, 317-303-343-963), BYU (15th-t, 323-315-325-963), New Mexico State (17th, 320-333-315-968) and Washington State (18th, 330-325-321-976).
Little logged her first under-par score of the spring (a 1-under 71) to lead UO in the final overall standings (21st-t, 74-76-71-221) for the fifth time in seven events this year and 14th time in her career. Wednesday's score was the 10th round that she's paced the squad this season and 37th in her career.
The Eugene native opened the round with a birdie on the par-4 first hole, then shot par scores the rest of the way.
Among other Duck results, sophomore Ashley Edwards (33rd, 74-77-74-225) ranked second on the squad in the final standings (33rd-t, 74-77-74-225) and was followed by freshman Cheyenne Hickle (40th-t, 70-81-76-227), senior Kate Hildahl (57th-t, 77-75-82-234) and senior Felicia Eastick (72nd, 81-79-82-242).
Overall, Pepperdine's Danielle Kang improved a place Wednesday to win by three strokes (67-72-69-208). Jodi Ewart of New Mexico shot the best score of the third round to finish second (69-74-68-211) and improved three positions Wednesday.

Looking ahead, UO has three weeks off to focus on final exams before it heads to the Lone Star State for the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas (Fri-Sun., March 26-28) and Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas (Mon.-Tue., April 12-13).
