Oregon - Washington State postgame quotes
03/07/10 | Men's Basketball
Oregon 74, Washington State 66
Eugene, Ore. - McArthur Court

Oregon Head Coach Ernie Kent
On Seniors Tajuan Porter and Joevan Catron: “This team did a great job of making sure Joevan and Tajuan had a great senior night. Tajuan has never had any trouble here and is graduating from the University of Oregon in 3 and a half years, Detroit should be proud of him. Tajuan has embraced this community and this environment. To attack these kids is all wrong, I'm proud he can take all these hits from the media and still graduate early and go out with a bow and smile on his face.”
On the game: “We played a good game defensively. We missed some basketball plays on the floor.”
On the Pac 10 tournament: “It's going to be a battle against them on Wednesday; we just need to get rested up. We love the Pac 10 tournament, we embrace it, and we're ready for it. When we go on the road we come together as a team and the boys will be able to drown out the noise [the media] on the read. We'll have them ready to play, they're energy and spirits are in the right place right now.”
On Mac Court: “It was great to have Dick Harter here to close out this building. He was a great coach; he made the Pit what it is today. We've been through a lot in this building, it will never be forgotten.”
On the Matthew Knight Arena: “The building for recruiting is important, but the parents want you [the coaches] to mentor and lead their kids, which is more important than the building.”
-----------------------------
LeKendric Longmire - Jr., F
On the win: “It was a really good win. I had to send Tajuan Porter off with a win.”
On Tajuan Porter: “Tajuan has been a great teammate. He's taught me a lot and has always been there for me.”
On Coach Ernie Kent: “We care about Coach a lot, he's a great guy, and we want to see him here. He's helped us grow as both players and men. He's been there for me, he relates to us. He's like a father figure to us and that means a lot to.”
On Mac Court: “It's a historic building, and I am glad to say I've shared historic special memories here.”
-----------------------------
Tajuan Porter - Sr., G
On the bow: “That was my final goodbye to Mac Court and our fans here. We play off their energy and they have been great. I want to leave a positive impact and hopefully I touched Oregon fans while I've been here.”
On LeKendric Longmire: “LeKendric has always been there for me. He said he'd go into double digits and win for me, and he did.”
On Coach Ernie Kent: “He deserves to come back and we fully support him. I love him to death - he's an unbelievable coach. He's a strong man and has always come back and never given up on us.”
Favorite memory at Mac Court: “It was the UCLA game my freshman year.”
-----------------------------
WSU Head Coach Ken Bone
On the game: “We have good shooters, and good looks, but we couldn't make a basket.”
On Oregon: “Oregon is an improved team. They have a good defense. They have beaten us twice now and we are looking forward to going to L.A. and seeing what we can do. Oregon is a good 7-11 team.”
On LeKendric Longmire: “I was the most impressed with him rebounding. He is a hard hustler.”
