EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Garrett Sim scored 20 points to lead Oregon to a 74-66 victory over Prairie View on Wednesday night at the Global Sports Hoops Showcase.
Devoe Joseph added 19 points and E.J. Singler 13 for the Ducks (8-3).
Demondre Chapman scored 12 points to lead the Panthers (4-8), who haven't played a home game since Nov. 15. Jourdan Demunynck added 10.
Oregon shot 41 percent but was 10 of 21 from 3-point range.
Trailing 25-23 with 5 minutes left in the first half, Oregon went up 34-30 at halftime after Sim and Singler combined to score the Ducks' next 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
Sim gave Oregon a 57-44 lead when he made a 3-pointer with 10:29 left, but Prairie View charged back within 68-64 with 4:43 remaining on consecutive 3-pointers by Louis Munks. But the Panthers failed to score for nearly 4 minutes, while the Ducks made six free throws.
Oregon (8-3) will close out the Global Sports Hoops Showcase against Stephen F. Austin (5-6) on Thursday night with tip-time set for 7 p.m. (PT).
POSTGAME NOTES
- Oregon used its sixth different starting lineup (in 11 games on the season). Guards Garrett Sim and Devoe Joseph, forwards E.J. Singler and Jeremy Jacob and center Tony Woods.
- The Ducks went 10-of-21 to shoot a season-high 47.6 percent on 3-pointers. It was the first time this season Oregon made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game this season.
- Devoe Joseph (19 points) reached double-figures in scoring for the fifth consecutive game.
- Joseph also established a new career-high with five steals. His previous best came against Northwestern back on Jan. 26, 2010.
- Garrett Sim (20 points) led the team in scoring for the fifth time this season (10th time on the career). It was the second time this season Sim has gone for 20+ (fourth of his career).
